A Quick “Ta Dah” reveal…
Hi!
September already!?! I don’t know about you, but I’m staring at my ‘to do’ list for this year, and it still seems like there’s still quite a bit to make still, and already I’m doing that mental juggle where I start wondering what can be put off until next year…. No wonder my list is always so huge at the start of a New year!
Anyway, I’m busy making some fun Christmas projects now, and the plan is that we’ll be out of lockdown by then, and able to catch up with family and friends, and enjoy the festive season properly. Eat, drink, quilt and be merry. (But not necessarily in that order!!)
I know many of you enjoyed Deanna’s Second Chance Quilts article in our current September issue, and I’ve just seen what she did with all those scrappy HST pinwheel blocks…
We finished the article with this pile –
As Deanna says “Pinwheel time! All the pinwheels were made with a single fabric for the colored sections. Except two, where I mixed similar colors to fill out the needed 48 blocks.
Stitch them together and, ta-dah!, a 42″ x 56″ quilt. Good for a young child or anyone needing a snuggle. This isn’t anything special, I guess, but it is fabric that has found a purpose instead of just being a bag of guilt. That is a win in my book.
Do you have HSTs lying around, or charm squares that could be paired up with a background fabric? Give it a go!
Let me know how it works out for you, or if you have questions that I might be able to help with.”
You’ll find Deanna at https://weddingdressblue.wordpress.com
(And she’s busy working on the next Second Chance Quilt for our November issue.)
Enjoy your week, and get creative with your scraps and leftovers.
Regards,
